Old Riga: Riga, the capital of Latvia, was founded in 1201. Jurmala: The resort city of Jurmala is a unique city extending for more than thirty kilometres along the Riga Bay, to the northwest from Riga. Jurmala is one of the most popular recreation sites on the Baltic Sea famous with it's hotels, cafes, beaches, quiet Jomas Street and it's distinctive nature. The favourable climate, the temperate see-water, the sandy beach and the fragrant zone of pines covering the dunes are temping to those who do not like the flaming southern sun. Jurmala is wonderful for recreation, but at the same time there is everything for those who got used to comfort of civilazation. In 2004 Aqua-park �?? water attractions and amusement park exclusively built by Canadian Company as the biggest in Europe was opened in the sea resort Jurmala, just 25 km away from Riga. The park offers a wide range of water attractions and entertainments. The total area occupied by the park is 11 000 square meters. The average daily quantity of visitors is estimated to be 800 persons.
Gauja National Park: Gauja National Park was founded in 1973 and is the first national park in Latvia. It focuses mainly on environmental protection but is also used for educational and leisure tourism. The territory of the park is 91745 ha. The main attractions for tourists are the towns of Sigulda and Cesis, the speciality reserves of Turaida and Araisi. Sigulda - one of the most picturesque towns in Latvia in the Gauja River valley, is known as the most popular tourist and leisure destination as well as famous winter sports resort in Latvia because of its bobsleigh track and the down-hill skiing routes. You will see the Turaida castle, visit local history museum, ruins of Sigulda castle, Crusader Castle, Gutmana Cave and Kropotkin`s Palace.
